We uphold our principles as they guide us in building protocols and setting up systems in place. Bon is an action-oriented entity where decisions are made by our protocols and systems rather than individuals. For doing this effectively, we have guiding principles and working principles.
Guiding principles are those non-negotiable values which form bon. These are accepted from the doctrines of permaculture, Amish community, Vedas and Samhitas. These are:
Earth care- Whatever exists on the Earth is a gift from nature and it is the responsibility of humans to take care of it.
People care- Community is primary and individual is secondary- लोका: समस्ता: सुखिनो भवन्तु|
Fair share- Whatever is taken from nature and community is given back in the best way possible.
The ultimate bliss on the planet comes not from worldly/materialistic means but rather in the state of Samadhi- लोकानन्दः समाधिसुखम्|
Acceptance, forgiveness, unconditional love, gratitude and selfless service is the essence of human life.
The guiding principles of bon are universal. However, based on the context or the purpose to be achieved, the working principles may adapt. These are:
Use modern systems of marketing, finance, law to sustain our work (through appropriate services/products)
Balancing the format as per the collective awareness of people
Using a mix of modern and traditional systems that provide the best impact
